Even Heinrich Himmler, a reviled Nazi war criminal, was never accused of saying, “Kill everybody.” Yet a recent unverified report from The Washington Post claims U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth used those or similar words prior to a Sept. 2 attack on a suspected drug-trafficking vessel off the coast of Venezuela. According to The Post, the strikes eventually killed all aboard -- including two shipwrecked survivors killed in a second missile attack launched allegedly to comply with Hegseth’s reported orders. It’s conduct that would constitute a grave war crime if proven true.
