STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Monsignor Farrell’s varsity ice hockey team remained undefeated (1-0-2) with a 2-2 tie with Archbishop Stepinac in a CHSHL AA division game Monday night at the Staten Island Skating Pavilion.

Michael Deat slammed in a tough angle shot after skating around the defense to make the score 2-2 late in second period. Evan Scandrariato started the play and earned an assist.

Both teams had scoring chances in the third but the goaltenders stood tall.

Chase LoDuca scored the first goal of the game on assists from Nick Kalugin and Jordan Bryant.

Matthew Benna made 27 saves to preserve the tie.

The Lons will take on Kellenberg in Coney Island Friday night.
