AKRON, Ohio – Akron is hosting a free concert as part of its yearlong Bicentennial Celebration on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. at the E.J. Thomas Performing Arts Hall on the University of Akron campus.
The Akron Bicentennial Concert aims to celebrate the city’s musical heritage and talent by highlighting and honoring musicians and conductors from the city’s past and present, according to the event website. The concert features the Akron Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Christopher Wilkins. Additional conductors and musicians featured at the concert include:
A community expo featuring bicentennial sponsors and partner organizations will take place before the concert at 6 p.m. in the venue’s lobby.
Free parking is available in lots 26, 27, 28, and 34 on the University of Akron campu
