The results of the bypolls in 12 Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) wards will be known on Wednesday (December 3, 2025), with counting beginning early under extensive security measures. Expected by late morning, the verdict will indicate how the city’s mood has shifted barely nine months after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power in the Delhi Assembly.

The bypolls were conducted on November 30 to fill seats that fell vacant after several sitting councillors moved to the Assembly or Parliament. According to the State Election Commission (SEC), 51 candidates, including 26 women, contested across the 12 wards, which recorded a voter turnout of 38.51 per cent. Chandni Mahal posted the highest polling at 55.93 per cent.
