TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Close friends of one of the victims in a deadly double shooting outside a Tempe pizza shop are speaking out.
They say they saw warning signs before the shooting, but didn’t think it would escalate to this degree of violence.
New records state that 27-year-old Benjamin Visser allegedly shot and killed his wife and her co-worker on Monday. Court docs say he told police he did it because he thought they were sleeping together.
Police say Benjamin’s wife, 21-year-old Mary Visser, had enough strength to call 911 and tell dispatchers her husband shot her. Mary and her coworker, 32-year-old Shaquille Simmons, died at the hospital.
