PHOENIX (KVOA) - The Arizona Attorney General's Office has filed a lawsuit against the Chinese online shopping platform Temu, accusing the company of consumer fraud and privacy violations.
Attorney General Kris Mayes announced the lawsuit, which was filed in Maricopa County Superior Court. The suit alleges that Temu's app secretly accessed users' locations, microphones, cameras and private activity without consent.
"The app is even able to go so far as to edit its own code. Once it has been downloaded to a consumer's phone, potentially allowing it to exploit the user's personally identifying information and other data, or to otherwise control the user's device," Mayes said.
