TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Reports of a child kidnapping in the Rita Ranch neighborhood turned out to be a misunderstanding, according to Tucson Police.

A massive police presence was observed earlier this evening near Old Vail and Rita Road. An officer explained the situation, saying it was actually a case of parental discipline between a father and his child. This misunderstanding led to calls and reports about an attempted kidnapping.

The area has since returned to normal.
