AKRON, Ohio – The city of Akron this week launched a mass notification system to keep residents updated on issues such as water boil advisories, road closures, warming center activations and snow/ice removal.
The system is free to join.
“This new notification system will help us reach more of our residents with important information,” said Akron Mayor Shammas Malik in a news release. “Residents can choose the types of information they want to receive notifications on like road closures, upcoming city events, building closures and more, as well as how they want to receive those notifications such as via text, phone call, email or all three.”
