CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KCRG) - The Northern Iowa volleyball team is headed back to the NCAA tournament after winning a fourth straight Missouri Valley Conference tournament title.
Outside hitter Cassidy Hartman paces the Panthers with a conference-leading 4.16 kills per set. She was named Missouri Valley Conference player of the year; the junior says that award may have her name on it, but it isn’t all about her.
“All the work we’ve been doing off the court and throughout the whole season, like starting in the spring, it’s just like all leads up to that,” Hartman said. “You can’t be good individually without having a good team, without teammates that support you. Without teammates that trust you to like take those risks in high swings.”
