Robber makes off with cash from West Peoria Walgreens, says the sheriff

WEST PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria County authorities are looking for a man who robbed a West Peoria Walgreen’s late Tuesday afternoon.

Sheriff Chris Watkins said a Black male wearing a surgical mask entered the store at 221 North Western Avenue about 4 p.m.

The man initially tried to get money from a Western Union kiosk, but he was denied. The robber then demanded all the money from the cash register, said the sheriff.

An employee handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash before he left the store and drove off in a black Ford Edge SUV.

The sheriff released security photos of the robber and the getaway vehicle.
