Rust and Bone and The Old Guard star Matthias Matthias Schoenaerts has been sentenced to six months in prison following driving offences, according to Belgian news agency Belga.
Schoenaerts, who will be seen next year as the villain in DC’s Supergirl movie, was sentenced in absentia after failing to appear in the Belgian court. The ruling related to two instances in 2024 of riding a motorbike without a valid licence, despite being banned from a previous 2021 driving offence.
According to Belga, the Belgian actor had been required to take remedial exams, but had failed to do so. He has also been fined €4,000 and has had a new one-year driving ban imposed.
Court spokesperson Luc De Cleir told Belga that the chances of Schoenaerts actually ending up in jail are almost nonexistent. T
