Srinagar, December 03: A massive fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in Khayam area of Srinagar, engulfing 4-5 residential houses and prompting an immediate response from the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES).
According to officials, a distress call was received at the Fire & Emergency Headquarters at 1:46 PM, following which fire tenders were dispatched from Fire Headquarters, Babdem, Fire Station Gowkadal and Fire Station Rainawari at 1:47 PM.
Deputy Director F&ES Dr Mir Aqib Hussain told Rising Kashmir that initial assessment indicates 4-5 residential houses suffered damage in the incident. “With the dedicated and swift efforts of our firefighters, we successfully brought the blaze under control. Cooling operations are currently underway,” he said.
