Along with the rest of the Erie Zoo , Safariland Express is closed for the season.

Until March 1, there will be no more watching the otters play, no gazing in wonder at the big snake in the Kiboka Outpost or walking among the wallabies.

Erie Zoo CEO Melissa "Roo" Kojancie calls it the quiet season, a time for zoo staff to catch its breath, tackle maintenance issues and work with animals.
