A killer died behind bars from lung cancer less than a year after he was convicted of murdering a police officer, an inquest has heard.
Piran Ditta Khan was the mastermind of an armed robbery which saw PC Sharon Beshenivsky shot dead in 2005 - on her daughter's fourth birthday.
He was jailed for life in May 2024, with a 40-year minimum term, after almost 15 years on the run.
Khan was the final member of the gang to be convicted.
The convict died at Wakefield Prison, West Yorkshire, aged 76, on February 21.
