As a chef, Larissa Popa has taken apart an entire hog for meat before. On Nov. 17, though, she had to do things a little bit differently, explaining every meticulous step of the process to a kitchen full of high school students in hair nets.

That’s because Popa recently took up a new gig as a teaching chef for Anchor Bay High School’s Culinary Program. The program has been around for a while, but up until this year students had to be bussed to another building for the classes. Now, with Anchor Bay High School’s new bond updates, the students just have to walk down the hallway to their brand new kitchen and restaurant for class.
