WAPPINGERS FALLS – A 41-year-old man was arrested and arraigned on Tuesday on the charge of criminally negligent homicide for the 2020 death of his 10-month-old daughter.

Wappingers Falls resident Thomas Martinez, an inmate at the Fishkill Correctional Facility, was brought to the Village of Wappingers Falls Court on Tuesday and arraigned on the felony charge.

Police and EMS personnel responded to a Creekview Court residence in the Village of Wappingers Falls on November 9, 2020, after 911 received a report of an unconscious 10-month-old baby. The child was rushed by EMS to Vassar Brothers Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

According to the New York State Police, an autopsy conducted by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be acute
