MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — A large section of Interstate 271 is expected to be closed for most of the day Wednesday after a tanker-truck rollover created a hazmat situation.

A news release from the Ohio Department of Transportation says I-271 is closed between I-77 and I-71 in both directions. Hazmat crews are on the scene.

ODOT says there is no estimate on when the highway will reopen. No information was released early this morning on what the tanker truck was hauling or the cause of the rollover.

Detours are posted, according to ODOT.
