MONROE COUNTY, Ind. — Police are investigating after they found a person dead in the woods in Monroe County Tuesday.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office said officers responded to a wooded area around 1:30 p.m. Dec. 2, near Union Valley and West Maple Grove roads , for a possible dead person in the woods.

Officials say no foul play is expected.

The MCSO says they are working with the Monroe County Coroner’s Office, who will gather the results of the autopsy and identity of the person.

This investigation is ongoing.
