SATELLITE BEACH, Fla. – Leaders in Satellite Beach will discuss a proposal to allow people to walk their dogs along the sand.
The pilot program would allow dogs on all city beaches from Jan. 1 through April 30, but there would be restrictions.

Dogs would only be allowed on the beaches from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m.
They would also have to stay off the dunes and would need to be on a leash no longer than 7 feet at all times.
Owners would also be required to clean up after their pets, with violators facing possible fines.
Wednesday’s city council meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
