Former MLB player Tim Harkness has died at 87

Former Major League Baseball player Tim Harkness has died, according to Bob Elliott of the Canadian Baseball Network. He was 87 years old.

The first baseman spent four years playing MLB, spending time with the Dodgers and Mets during his career.

A native of Canada, Harkness played for the Dodgers in 1961 and 1962, before spending the 1963 and 1964 seasons with the Mets.

After retiring from playing, he returned to Canada and worked as a scout.

“We are deeply saddened to learn about the passing of former Major League Baseball player, Toronto Maple Leafs Manager, and IBL Champion Tim Harkness,” the Toronto Maple Leafs of the Canadian Baseball League posted on X .

“The Lachine, Quebec, native spent four seasons in the MLB with the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets, before returnin
