Former Major League Baseball player Tim Harkness has died, according to Bob Elliott of the Canadian Baseball Network. He was 87 years old.

The first baseman spent four years playing MLB, spending time with the Dodgers and Mets during his career.

A native of Canada, Harkness played for the Dodgers in 1961 and 1962, before spending the 1963 and 1964 seasons with the Mets.

After retiring from playing, he returned to Canada and worked as a scout.
