The second phase of the St. Clair College community park will kick off this spring, with Chatham-Kent council approving a $3.3 million tender for the work Monday night.
Westhoek Construction Ltd. was the recommended bid, which councillors accepted as part of the consent agenda.

In May of 2023, council approved the donation of nearly eight hectares (19.5 acres) of land along Bear Line Road from St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology. The terms of the donation were for the municipality to develop a public park at the site.
Phase 1 included all engineering work, construction of the underground infrastructure, parking lot, and the privately operated tennis dome.
