A storm that swept through the region and brought a wintry mix left icy conditions in some parts of Connecticut, leading to nearly 20 school systems operating on a delay on Wednesday.
The mix moved into the state Tuesday morning and lingered in some parts of Connecticut into the evening hours before temperatures dipped, leading to rain and slush freezing over night.
About 18 school systems operated on a two-hour delay , including those in Bristol, Bloomfield, Bolton, East Windsor, Manchester, Plymouth, New Fairfield, New Hartford, Sherman, Somers, South Windsor, Torrington, Windsor, Windsor Locks and other towns.
