LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - One person is dead after a crash on Winchester Road.

The crash happened Wednesday morning in the 3300 block of Winchester Road near Bittersweet Farms.

The vehicle was traveling inbound when the driver went around a curve and left the road, according to authorities. The vehicle struck a culvert, plowed into the ground and flipped, going through a fence.

We’re told a female passenger died from her injuries. The driver was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.

A Bittersweet Farms worker found the vehicle and called 911.

Winchester Road was shut down in both directions between Bahama Road and Man O War Boulevard.
