CLEVELAND — Margaritaville Cleveland has announced they are closed for the winter season effective Dec. 1.

In a Facebook post earlier this week , the Jimmy Buffett-inspired restaurant -- which features beach-style summer vibes -- declared “our flip flops need a break too!”

“Stay warm, stay happy, and stay tuned for updates,” according to their Facebook post.

A banner on the restaurant's official site also declares this location is "CLOSED FOR THE SEASON."

Neither the Facebook post nor the restaurant's site provide any details on what date Margaritaville Cleveland is expected to reopen.

But why the closure? 3News received the following statement from Margaritaville officials on Wednesday:

Last year, Margaritaville Cleveland was open during the Christmas season as the restaurant
