PORTLAND, Ore. — A man has been taken into custody following two unprovoked assaults on Portland residents on Southeast 122 nd Avenue in separate attacks last week.
The first incident took place at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, when a passerby alerted officers from the Portland Police Bureau’s East Precinct to an assault she had witnessed.
The victim, a 21-year-old-male, told police that a man had approached him and hit him in the face without provocation in the area of Southeast 122 nd Avenue and Southeast Division Road.
Police arrested Santos Puerto-Rios (24), of Portland, shortly afterwards and transported him to the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC), where he was charged with fourth-degree assault.
Three days later, on Friday, November 28, police were alerted
