A Welsh pub owner has forked out an eye-watering £7,000 on a festive transformation for his local boozer - only for drinkers to say that the lights are "blinding them". Naylan Thomas, 34, estimates he switches on more than 10,000 lights every day, pushing his December electricity bill to around £500.
It's the fourth year he has gone all-in on Christmas decorations, having previously turned his former home into "a magical winter wonderland." But for 2025, he has taken things a step further by converting his newly acquired pub in Llanwit Fardre into a miniature Santa's grotto, complete with over 100 Nutcracker figurines and four Christmas trees.
