FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — The Extreme Cold Weather Temporary Shelter will be opened in Fall River on Thursday in anticipation of sub-freezing overnight temperatures.

The 134 Durfee Street shelter is located in the first floor conference room.

It will be open from 4 p.m. Thursday until 8 a.m. Friday, according to Fall River City Hall.

First Step Inn and the Fall River Community Development Agency are collaborating on opening the shelter to residents.

Anyone in Fall River in need of shelter is asked to call 508-679-8001 or the FAST Response Team’s 24-hour homeless hotline at 508-676-3528.
