CANANDAIGUA, NY — The manual recounts are done in Victor and Manchester, and the race for the Canandaigua town supervisor job could be decided by the end of the day Dec. 3.

Democrat Jen Tipton will join the Victor Town Board, and Democrat Martha Doody will join the Manchester Town Board on Jan. 1, 2026. Both candidates had been leading their respective races after election night and mail-in and affidavit votes were counted.

In Canandaigua, Democrat Don Cotter was leading Republican Supervisor Jared Simpson by 14 votes heading into the recount. Simpson was leading by one vote after the polls closed on election night, but a mail-in and affidavit vote count put Cotter in the lead.
