BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - Six Bount County school have been named “Reward Schools” by the Tennessee Department of Education . They join 453 other schools across the state to get the designation for the 2024-2025 school year.

Those awarded get the recognition for multiple reasons, included high performance or improvement based on goals set the previous year. The six Blount County schools named were:

Fairview Elementary

Friendsville Elementary

Heritage High School

Porter Elementary

Samuel Everett School of Innovation

Walland Elementary
