HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – Fire officials have provided new details into massive fires at two separate Holyoke apartment buildings.
In a joint statement from local and state investigators, it was announced Wednesday that it appears the fires on Clemente Street and High Street appear to be accidental, but the exact cause of each fire remains under investigation.
On Monday, 26 families were displaced after fire broke out at an apartment building on Clemente Street . Investigators found that the fire started in a second-floor apartment and, based on an examination of the scene and witness interviews, they don’t believe the fire was intentionally set.
Then, just hours later, on Tuesday, a three-alarm fire broke out on High Street, which extended to properties on High and Franklin Streets
