Shillong, Dec 3: A PhD scholar in the Department of Linguistics, NEHU Ferdinand Lyngdoh Marshillong was conferred this year’s prestigious National Shreshta Divyangjan Award

The award was presented by President Draupadi Murmu in a special ceremony held at VigyanBhawan, New Delhi today.

Ferdinand, a person with hearing impairment is pursuing his doctoral research on “Khasi Sign Language: Acquisition, Structure and Social Implications of Indigenous Signs” under the supervision of Dr. Saralin A. Lyngdoh.
