After delaying the vote on the legally-mandated University of Iowa Center for Intellectual Freedom's bylaws, the Iowa Board of Regents approved the guiding tenets at a previously not-scheduled meeting.

The center's proposed bylaws were the heart of a discussion during the Iowa Board of Regents' November meeting in Ames. The Board of Regents on Thursday, Nov. 13, unanimously voted to delay approval of the bylaws , citing concerns about who would control the advisory committee and the lack of council input.
