OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Omaha North senior Darion Jones is officially an Iowa Hawkeye.

“Since a little kid watching them on TV, just wanting to be a Hawkeye, going to Kinnick Stadium watching the games (thinking) like, ‘I’ve got to be there one day,’” Jones said. “Making it happen, it’s unreal.”

The Vikings’ senior signed his National Letter of Intent Wednesday morning, the first day of the early signing period.

“This was my dream growing up,” Jones said. “Now it’s here and it’s amazing.”

Jones is ranked as a four-star cornerback by 247Sports and committed to the Hawkeyes on July 4. He is the brother of Nebraska redshirt freshman defensive back Donovan Jones.
