The Trenton Golden Hawks climbed back into the win column Tuesday in Buffalo, beating the Junior Sabres 4-1 to snap a three-game losing skid.
The defending Ontario Junior Hockey League champions currently stand second in the East Conference with a 19-6-0-2 record, six points back of the Stouffville Spirit (23-6-0-0) with two games in hand. They’ve dropped from 9th to 12th among 118 teams nation-wide in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s weekly Top 20 rankings.
After a scoreless first period Tuesday, Beckett Ewart opened the scoring for Trenton 8:17 into the second period when he was set up by Taeo Artichuk and Matthew Hicks.
Buffalo (17-7-2-3) tied it at 15:12 of the first when Tucker Lyndaker scored from Brett Kazmiarski and Matthew Holst.
