Edmonton police say an infant girl remains in hospital in critical condition after Friday’s house fire in Clareview Village that claimed the life of a two-year-old boy and injured five other people.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) says it’s investigating the deadly blaze at a townhouse complex near 31 Street and 132A Avenue that broke out just after 1:20 a.m.

Four children and three adults were at the home when the fire occurred.

The infant girl was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains critical. An eight-year-old girl was treated in hospital and has since been released. A 10-year-old girl was treated on scene and did not need to be hospitaliz
