ANN ARBOR, MI — The University of Michigan lost the football game against Ohio State on Nov. 29. They also lost the blood battle.
Wolverines donated just over 100 pints less than Ohio State University in this year’s competition, Valerie Goodwin, senior public relations representative at UM Health, wrote in a Dec. 3 email.
Wolverines donated 1,622 pints of blood this year, while Buckeyes donated 1,725 pints, according to Goodwin.
This was UM’s fourth consecutive loss in the Blood Battle.
UM had a 15% increase in blood donations from last year’s count.
In total, the Blood Battle brought in 3,347 pints of blood, which could save over 10,000 lives, Goodwin wrote.
“The Wolverines for Life team at UM is grateful to everyone who came out to donate during this year’s Blood Battle,” Goodwin
