BAY CITY, MI – The Bay City Housing Commission is taking a major step in its efforts to bring more affordable housing to the city.

The housing commission updated city officials on its public housing repositioning plan in a presentation delivered during the Bay City Commission’s Monday, Dec. 1, meeting.

The housing commission is currently in the process of transferring its public housing portfolio to a nonprofit it created, Great Lakes Community Development Partners (GLCDP).

“We believe that this is totally in the best interest, not only of our organization, but of the residents,” said Bay City Housing Commission CEO Bill Phillips.
