Home sales in the London area tumbled in November, dropping nearly 20 per cent and marking the end of a sluggish, disappointing fall market.

A total of 492 homes changed hands across the London region – which includes Strathroy, St. Thomas and portions of Elgin and Middlesex counties – the London and St. Thomas Association of Realtors (LSTAR) reported Wednesday.

Sales slumped even as home prices, after falling about $45,000 between September and October, remained virtually unchanged in November at about $605,000.

Though home sales typically slow in November, the 19.2-per-cent drop was larger than expected given current prices and interest rates – now at 2.25 per cent – said Dale Marsh, LSTAR’s 2025 chair.
