ATLANTA — Details are continuing to emerge on how an escaped Rockdale County inmate has evaded authorities since he got out of custody while at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta early Monday morning.

The manhunt for Timothy Shane, who is considered "armed and dangerous" has continued into Tuesday. It began the previous morning when he stole an SUV near Grady and crashed in Downtown Atlanta, fleeing on foot in his hospital gown.

Since then, the Rockdale Sheriff's Office said Tuesday, investigators believe he stole a silver Pontiac Grand Prix and took it to the Publix on Highway 155 in Henry County before he requested a rideshare to a residence in south Rockdale.
