A person has died after barricading themselves inside a Stamford home for hours on Tuesday.
Police said they responded to a home on Oaklawn Avenue around 11 a.m. and as officers approached, their vehicles were shot at.

Police returned fire, and the suspect appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Multiple agencies, including the Connecticut State Police Major Crimes Unit, responded to the scene.
No officers were injured during the exchange of gunfire, according to city officials. The Office of the Inspector General is conducting an investigation.
