SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A federal grand jury returned a 17-count indictment charging five people with drug crimes, including one defendant accused of trying to kill a federal official.
The indictment charges the following defendants with various drug, money laundering and firearm offenses related to the distribution of methamphetamine in South Bend.

Robert Sanders
Kumar Bishop
Sanena Williams
DeCarlos C. Smallwood
DeCarlos L. Smallwood faces an additional charge of attempting to kill a federal official engaged in the performance of federal duties. According to court paperwork, on Nov. 6 he fired a single shot at federal agents as they were executing a search warrant on his home. He was eventually arrested.
