LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - A Shipshewana couple is dead after a crash on Tuesday afternoon in LaGrange County involving an Amish buggy and a dump truck.

Indiana State Police said it happened just after 3 p.m. on U.S. 20 near County Road 1000 West.

According to police, the buggy was on the shoulder heading east on U.S. 20 when a Ford F550 dump truck drifted into the shoulder for an unknown reason and hit the buggy.

Police said the two occupants of the buggy, 75-year-old Marvin Shrock and 74-year-old Ruby Shrock, both died at the scene. The driver of the dump truck, a 20-year-old from Sturgis, did not have any reported injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Indiana State Police Critical Incident Reconstruction Team.
