ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — An Anderson County grand jury indicted a former Anderson County Sheriff's Office deputy after she allegedly stole and attempted to sell a crossbow that she recovered while on duty.
Whitney B. Davis, a 31-year-old, faces a felony charge of official misconduct and a misdemeanor charge of theft $1,000 or less, the Anderson County District Attorney General's Office said.
The Clinton Police Department investigated the alleged crime, according to the DA's Office. Davis was fired from ACSO before the indictments were returned.
The former deputy was booked into the Anderson County Detention Facility on a $25,000 bond and is set to appear for arraignment on Jan. 5, 2026, the DA's Office said.
