SEATTLE — A man armed with a hatchet and drugs was arrested in downtown Seattle on Tuesday night.
Around 6:20 p.m., officers found a man trespassing in an alleyway behind the Smith Tower on Yesler Way, according to a blotter post.
Police say the alleyway had a large sign declaring it was closed to the public and had a fence blocking the north entrance.
When officers contacted the man, they found a small plastic bag with white powder in it. During his arrest, officers recovered meth, cocaine, a knife, a hatchet and other drug paraphernalia.
The man was taken to the King County Jail, but staff "declined him booking for medical reasons." Officers took him to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation and released him from police custody," police said in their post.
