SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - It’s December in Michiana, which means ‘Bears in the Air’ is back at South Bend International Airport!
While the official event doesn’t start until Friday, the first bears were donated Wednesday morning.
Community leaders took time to give back to local children in a special way.
The teddy bears will be donated across multiple hospitals, providing kids with a little happiness and joy this holiday season.
“It helps the community by providing these bears to children in the hospital and the veteran’s and it’s just a way for the airport to participate in the community. And those seem to be two very worthy causes, and we enjoy doing it,” said David Sage the president of the St. Joseph County Airport Authority board.
