VENICE — For Asharri Charles, DJ Jones, and Landon Green, there was no point in waiting.

On Wednesday, the first day of college football’s three-day early national signing period, the three Venice Indian players made it official with their respective colleges. Charles, the team’s dominating defensive end, signed with the University of Miami. Jones, an anchor on the Indian offensive line, signed with the University of Missouri. Green, Venice’s sure-handed receiver, signed with Stetson University.
