BURLINGTON, Iowa (KWQC) - Two men were arrested after Burlington detectives said they saw a vehicle speed from a Burger King, slide through a slush-covered intersection and crash into a pole.
The detectives, who were on surveillance Tuesday on an unrelated case, said they recognized the passenger as Nicholas Connelly, who has warrants in a Nov. 13 robbery, according to court records.
Burlington police arrested Connelly and William Teager Jr. after the crash in the 3000 block of Flint Hills Drive.
Upon detaining Connelly, detectives said they smelled marijuana in the vehicle. A subsequent search revealed firearms on both men. Teager Jr. admitted to smoking marijuana and was found with two smoked marijuana in his jacket pocket, according to court documents.
