CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - A former employee is facing charges after police say $21,000 was stolen from Great Revivalist Brewery through fraudulent checks and ticket sales.
Police arrested 44-year-old Chiquita Austin on charges of felony first- and second-degree theft and 12 counts of felony forgery.
According to an arrest affidavit, the brewery reported on April 25 that multiple unauthorized checks had been written and deposited by then-employee Austin. Investigators found she wrote and deposited 12 checks between Dec. 20, 2024, and Feb. 14, totaling more than $12,000, and five more checks between Feb. 20 and April 9, totaling more than $8,000, documents state.
