PORTAGE, Wis. (WKOW) — All lanes on WIS 78 near Shanks Road in Columbia County are currently blocked due to a utility emergency.

The incident, which involves downed powerlines, occurred at 2:49 p.m. on Wednesday. It is expected to last for approximately two hours.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is handling the situation.

Northbound drivers are advised to take Shanks Road southbound to Old U Road and then travel northbound to return to WIS 78. Southbound traffic should reverse this direction.
