The town of Thurmont donated on Tuesday $25,000 to the Hurwitz Breast Cancer Fund — a record amount for the town since it began campaigning for the fund annually in 2014.

Town leaders presented the check to Patty and Jeff Hurwitz at the town offices on Tuesday after the conclusion of Thurmont's Gateway to the Cure campaign.
